Alena Arpels (DJ Set) (10.30pm)

London-based DJ, dancer and record collector, Alena Arpels DJs regularly across the UK and Europe, sharing the stage with such legendary DJs as Bill Brewster, Dave Lee, Nancy Noise, Luke Una, Norman Jay MBE, Kon and many more. A passionate broadcaster, Alena is a resident radio DJ at Global Soul Radio and The BoAt Pod, London’s famous boat radio station based in Little Venice. Her record collection, taste and knowledge of brilliant obscure music caught the attention of superstar DJ Dave Lee (Z Records) who invited her to select tracks for the ninth instalment of the cult ‘Under The Influence’ compilation series, following on from Red Greg, Paul Phillips, James Glass, Nick The Record, Sean P, Faze Action, Winston and Woody Bianchi. The compilation was released in September 2021 to positive reviews and received radio support from Gilles Peterson and more.

Vanity Fairy (9.15pm)

Having supported Warmduscher, Katy J Pearson, Audiobooks, Lime Garden, Insecure Men, Let’s Eat Grandma, and Girl Ray, 2023 was a bit of a whirlwind for divine disco diva – and recent Moshi Moshi signing – Vanity Fairy. A sparkling starlet of the underground East London scene, Vanity’s debut EP ‘Love From Above’ spins a nostalgia-laden world that plays with kitsch-pop tropes and revels in the hedonistic indulgences of classic disco. But there’s also something strange at work here. Between her shimmering vocal falsetto (which has been compared to everyone from Barry Gibb to Kate Bush) and onstage theatrics, the iconic disco darling is earning a reputation as one of the most mesmerising live performers around. Vanity Fairy is on a messianic, hedonistic one-woman-mission to spread one simple emotion to audiences everywhere: JOY!
